CS Executive Direct Entry Scheme

Company Secretary (CS) Course is one of the most demanding course amongst Commerce Students. Company Secretary (CS) Course is conducted by Institute of Companies Secretaries of India(ICSI). 

Following types of students may join directly for CS Executive without CS Executive Entrance Test (CSEET)

  • Graduate (having minimum 50% marks) in any discipline of any recognised University or any other Institution of any recognised University or any other Institution in India or abroad recognized as equivalent thereto by the Council
  • Post Graduates in any discipline of any recognised University or any other Institution in India or abroad recognized as equivalent thereto by the Council
  • CMA Final Passed students
  • CA Final Passed Students

To get exemption from CSEET on the basis of above qualification, such students shall be required to pay applicable exemption fees.

CS Executive Registration Procedure

Procedure to register for CS Executive 

CS Executive Passing Percentage Criteria

To Clear the CS Executive Exams a student needs to get at least 40% Marks in Each Subject and 50% Marks in Aggregate. 

But keep in the mind the following points:

  1. A student who appears in Single Group/Module needs to get 40% Marks in Individual Subject and 50% Marks in Aggregate.
  2. A student who appear in Both Groups/Module of CS Executive needs to get 40% in each paper of All 8 Papers and 50% in Aggregate from Both Groups. It means that even if the aggregate Marks in Single Group is Less than 50% but in aggregate in both Groups is 50% or more then student shall be deemed as passed.
  3. If a student who appear in Both Groups/Module of CS Executive appear in all 8 papers of Both Groups but get less than 50% Marks in any of these papers then he shall be taken as failed in that particular group in which he has less than 40% in any paper but in the other group if he has secured minimum 40% marks in each paper and 50% in Aggregate then he shall be passed in that group.
  4. If a student secures less than 40% marks in any paper of a group but in remaining papers he has secured 60% or more marks in Aggregate then he will not be required appear in these other papers i.e he is just required to appear in only that paper in which marks are less than 40%.

CS Professional

After CS Executive the next Level is CS Professional. A student may register for CS Professional after clearing CS Executive. If a student clear CS Executive in June, 2022 then he/she may appear in CS Professional Exams in June, 2023. 

Number of Modules/Groups

CS Professional is divided into three Modules each having three papers. A student may appear in appear in any number of modules as per his/her choice.

Duration of CS Course

If a student starts CS after Graduation then duration of the Course is around 2 Years 6 Months including Articleship Training of 21 Months. So we can say that even after being highly demanding and sought after course duration of CS Course is very short as compared to other Courses.

Medium of CS Course

A student appearing in CS Course has option to appear in English or Hindi Medium.

New CS Training Structure in 2021

 

A student pursuing CS Course is required to complete the following requirements, as per the new training structure:

  • Executive Development Programme (EDP) of one month duration after passing of Executive Programme Examination;
  • Practical Training for Twenty One (21) Months after completion of Executive Development Programme on whole time basis during normal working hours,-

  • in a company having Company Secretary in whole time employment or any other company fulfilling such criteria as may be determined by the Institute; or
  • under a Company Secretary in whole-time practice fulfilling such criteria as may be determined by the Institute; or
  • in any other Body Corporate or institution or organisation or entity fulfilling such criteria as may be determined by the Institute;

  • After passing the Professional Programme Examination, a Corporate Leadership Development Programme (CLDP) for not less than thirty (30) Days but not exceeding sixty (60) days as may be determined by the Institute.
